The has been extracted through the steam distillation of the flowering tops of the herb. Native to the Mediterranean, the main countries which produce this fresh oil are Tunisia, Spain and France. The plant belongs to the mint family which includes other herbs such as basil, sage, lavender and myrtle. Well known for its culinary use, this evergreen shrub produces a woody, refreshing herbaceous oil when steam distilled.

Rosemary oil is also extensively used in household products, for example room fresheners, diffusers, and scented candles in order to remove bad odours.

Help bring clarity to the mind by adding a few drops to your diffuser or oil burner and immerse yourself in the refreshing and uplifting aroma of Rosemary Essential Oil.

You can apply Rosemary Oil topically but, must be diluted with a carrier oil. Dilute at a percentage of 1% of the finished blend, 1ml (approx. 20 drops) of essential oil to 100ml of carrier oil. Do not use undiluted on the skin. You can use up to 3% dilution for use on your body or in the bath.
Blends well with: Basil, Cedarwood, Geranium Rose, Ginger, Grapefruit, Lemongrass, Lime, Lemon, Orange, Peppermint, Tangerine and Tea Tree.

Natural antioxidant

As a natural antioxidant, when applied topically to the skin, diluted with a carrier oil, this oil can help to naturally fight against free radicals. Rosemary Oil has astringent properties so it can have a tightening effect on the skin. To discover the benefits for yourself, simply add it to your beauty regime as part of your cleanser, toner or moisturiser or why not try using Rosemary Oil as an ingredient to your homemade lotions, balms, creams and serums.

Rosemary Oil is well known for its haircare benefits. It promotes strong, healthy hair. By adding a couple of drops to your shampoo can help boost shine and strength and promote a healthy scalp.

Create an intensive hair mask combining Rosemary Essential Oil with a carrier oil. We recommend Extra Virgin Olive Oil (#223) or (#203). Massage a few drops into your hair and scalp, cover with a towel and leave for around 30 minutes. Whenever you use an oil treatment on your hair, it is helpful to begin to lather the shampoo before adding lots of water to help emulsify the oil. This will help the oil rinse out fully.

Both grape seed extract and pine bark are rich sources of the plant flavonoids PROANTHOCYANIDINS (OPCs). The OPCs are the pigment materials which give flavour, colour and aroma to many plants and fruits. The beneficial effects of pine bark were discovered in 1534 when sailors suffering from scurvy, survived by drinking tea made from the bark and needles of pine trees.

Masquelier patented the method of extracting PROANTHOCYANIDINS from pine bark in France in 1951 and from grape seeds in 1970. The PROANTHOCYANIDINS have been marketed in France for decades, where they have been shown to improve retinopathies, venous insufficiency, and vascular fragility. Grape seed extract typically contains 92 to 95% OPCs while the pine bark extracts vary from 80 to 85%.

OPCs effectively protect collagen structures in several ways. They reinforce the collagen matrix of connective tissue, protect against free radical damage, and inhibit collagen damage caused by inflammation and infection. The OPCs have been shown to be effective in cases of psoriasis and the hyper pigmentation disorder melasma.

OPCs protect against free-radical damage, suggested to be a major cause of the ageing process. The antioxidant effect is 50 times greater than that of vitamin C and E. A major advantage of these molecules is that they are taken up into the cell membranes and protect against both water and fat soluble free radicals.

Good clinical evidence has shown OPCs to be effective in treating venous insufficiency, varicose veins, capillary fragility, and disorders of the retina. OPCs appear to improve blood circulation through collagen support and nitric oxide (NO) production.

Studies in healthy volunteers has shown that an intake of 200mg/day of OPCs significantly improved visual performance in dark and after glare tests. A number of European studies have shown that OPCs from pine bark, greatly
